Rovers will be without Wheater and McCormack for the game against Brentford on Tuesday after they were called up for England (U19) and Scotland (U21) respectively.
It has also been reported that 'keeper Alan Blayney is on standby for the Northern Ireland squad and should he be called up Rovers may well consider postponing the Brentford game.
