'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Automatic hopes still alive

Although Carlisle are favourites to join Swansea as the teams gaining automatic promotion to the Championship at the end of the season Doncaster maintained their charge for one of these spots with a 2-0 victory over Swindon on Friday.

Sean McDaid opened the scoring for the home side shortly before the break then Swindon were reduced to 10-men when Hasney Aljofree fouled Mark McCammon. From the resulting penalty Brian Stock converted to secure the 3 points.

Doncaster closed to within 3 points of second placed Carlisle as a result, but they can open that 6 point gap again today should they beat play-off chasing Leeds. Doncaster now look as if they will have to settle for a play-off spot, or can they overturn this deficit?

Donny need to win their last three, I cannot see Carlisle dropping enough points.

Thanks to Leeds for beating Carlisle, it might come down to goal difference.

And thats also very very close. Carlisle actually could have a difficult run in with Southend (h), Millwall (a) and hopefully Bournemouth still have the chance of staying up on the last day of the season.
