Doncaster Crush Shrimpers To Make Final

Doncaster secured their place in the League One play-off Final thrashing Southend 5-1, to record the same aggregate score win and set-up a meeting with Leeds to see who has the right to play Championship football next season.

Southend hit the bar early on through James Walker but Doncaster never looked back after that. Brian Stock (11) put the home side ahead from the spot before Southend captain Adam Barrett (21) headed into his own net to extend the lead. James Coppinger (39 and 52) put the game beyond doubt with two fine solo goals before completing his hat trick (80) with a free kick. Nick Bailey (88) scored late on for the visitors but it was nothing more than a consolation as Doncaster ran out 5-1 winners on the night, winning the two-legged tie by the same score line.

Sean O'Driscoll now wants his side to finish the job against Leeds: 'The job is half done and we want to finish it against a very good Leeds team,' O'Driscoll told BBC Sport. 'We've performed like that for most of the season and sometimes you don't get your just rewards.

'It's probably fitting in an important game like this we have finished some of the moves we have done all season.'

Can Doncaster complete the job they have started and overcome Leeds to gain promotion to the Championship, something that seemed likely for most of the season anyway?
