DRFC- Doncaster complete Chambers transfer

DRFC- Doncaster complete Chambers transfer

Doncaster have continued their recent spree into the transfer market by signing James Chambers from Leicester City.

The 27 year old put pen to paper on a three year deal with the club.

Chambers previous clubs include West Brom, Cardiff and Watford.
He made 12 starts for Watford in the Premiership in 2006/07.
He's also enjoyed promotion on three occasions.

He predominantly plays at right back, has also played left back and centre of midfield during his career.
He made 27 appearances for Leicester in the 2007/08 season.

Speaking to Rovers official website Chambers said
'its been drawn out a little bit.
I was hoping that something could have been sorted out last week, but I'm signed to Doncaster now and am looking forward to playing Championship football with them.
I saw a few games last season and I've heard a few things about how well Doncaster played last year from a few people, especially in terms of how well they play football. I'm glad to be part of it. It was an easy decision to make and being an ex player of Richard O'Kelly, who had me in the youth team at West Brom, it was even easier'

Chambers will wear the number six shirt.

Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll also confirmed that Rovers are now unlikely to add Bristol City defender Richard Keogh to the squad.
21 year old Keogh has been on trial for the last few games.

Taken from ITV teletext O'Driscoll said
'We've signed Matt Mills and Jos van Nieuwstadt so our need for another defender is obviously less than it was'

Good signing Donny. James is a good player. Once an icon at Watford... I think you'll find out he is more than a utility player.. He's a quality player... GOOD LUCK JC FROM EVERYONE AT THE VIC....

He was obviously quite popular at Watford then! I just think he may struggle to get into the starting eleven for starters, so he will have to be happy with games in quite a few positions when the opportunity arises.
