DRFC - Hird included in team of the week
Young Rovers central defender Sam Hird has been included in the Championship team of the week for his display during the teams weekend victory over Coventry at the weekend.
Doncaster born Hird joined Doncaster from Leeds United in 2007 and struggled to break into the Rovers side.
The defender who celebrates his twenty first birthday had a very successful loan spell at Grimsby Town last season, he then came back to the Rovers and played a very important part in Rovers play off final success.
This season he`s been an ever present at the heart of the defence and has struck up a great partnership with Matt Mills who has also previously been in the team of the week for his performance at Derby.
The award is chosen by the Press Association on the Monday after the previous weekend`s games.
