DRFC - Doncaster players close to comeback

With Rovers encountering their first ever break due to internationals this weekend Sean O`Driscoll took the opportunity to arrange a friendly with Leeds United on Wednesday afternoon to give some players the opportunity of a meaningful 90 minutes.

Rovers took a very strong side of players who have yet to feature much for the first team this season. It also included Jason Price and Darren Byfield who have just returned from operations in the summer. Byfield managed to get on the score sheet scoring the third in a 3-2 victory.

In fact the boss was unsure exactly what to do with the players this week with a clear 14 days without a competitive game and took advice from Championship and Premier League managers who frequently are in this position.
Rovers have one player who has been called up for the weekend World Cup qualifiers; Brian Stock is hoping to win his first full cap for Wales in their clashes against either Azerbaijan or Russia.
After Wednesdays game had finished Sean O`Driscoll and his assistant Richard O`Kelly took the opportunity to go and watch the Stoke City v Aston Villa reserve game.
