'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC - O'Driscoll, we needed the first goal

Sean O`Driscoll contemplated Rovers performance after our second successive 1-0 defeat in the space of four days.

Once again Rovers dominated the game for long periods but couldn`t manage to find a way past the opposing teams defence.

Speaking in The Star Sean said "If we had scored first then we would have won the game. Performance wise we dominated almost from start to finish"

Rovers have only scored three goals so far this season and that`s the lowest total by any team in the Championship. With Gareth Taylor out injured with a hamstring injury Darren Byfield, Paul Heffernan and Jason Price will all want to start at Bristol City on Saturday.

Having only conceded five goals so far this season Rovers also boast a good defensive record but must be concerned that the Charlton goal once again came from a set piece.

The boss tried to make sure the players were focused for set pieces and said prior to kick off 'I think the last thing we said before we went out was not to concede from a free-kick, sometimes football goes that way. You make issues of things so when you get a free kick against you people panic a little bit."

Rovers have now slipped to fifteenth in League One with seven points from six games and have a quick chance to get back on track when coming up against former Rovers star midfielder Michael Mcindoe on Saturday at Bristol City.
