DRFC - Bristol City v Doncaster Rovers preview

Rovers will come up against familiar opposition for the first time this season when we travel to Ashton Gate.

The clubs met as recently has the 2006/07 season when City completed the double on their way to promotion from League One.

There will be quite a few familiar faces on show to both sets of fans on Saturday. Michael Mcindoe will come up against Doncaster for the first time since leaving the club and I am sure the Rovers fans will give him a great reception. City fans welcome back Paul Heffernan and last seasons leading goalscorer Darren Byfield.

Form
Both clubs go into the clash having lost at home in midweek. City lost 2-1 at home against Birmingham City, Rovers lost 1-0 against Charlton Athletic.

City`s home form so far this season has seen them yet to win, they have drawn 1-1 with both Derby County and QPR and suffered a solitary loss against Birmingham City.

Rovers away form so far has seen them win 1-0 at Derby County and lose 2-0 at QPR and 1-0 at Birmingham City.

With the season only six games old there are only two points between the clubs yet Bristol are seventh whilst Rovers are sixteenth.

Team News
Bristol City
City`s main doubt is keeper Adriano Basso who had to be withdrawn at half time on Tuesday night. If he doesn`t recover then Chris Weale is the most likely replacement.
Marvin Elliott is still not fit enough to return.

Doncaster Rovers
Gareth Taylor came off on Tuesday night with a hamstring injury and is definitely out. Darren Byfield and Paul Heffernan will both want to replace him and play against their former employees.
Jason Price and Stuart Elliott will also be pushing for a start in place of Taylor.

History
The clubs have previously met on sixteen occasions at Ashton Gate and Rovers have a woeful record winning only once, Bristol have won eleven with the other four being draws.
The last time the clubs met at Ashton Gate City won 1-0 but Doncaster deserved at least a draw and keeper Adriano Basso was in fantastic form for the home side.
