DRFC - Ameobi joins Grimsby on loan

Young Rovers striker Tomi Ameobi is to join League Two side Grimsby Town on a month`s loan.

The 19 year old signed from Leeds United during the summer and is seen as 'one for the future` with the club.

Ameobi who has yet to appear for the first team has been impressing for the reserves and scored against his former club Leeds United in a behind closed doors friendly recently.

Grimsby who are currently manager less hope he will have a similar impact to Sam Hird who had a similar loan spell at Grimsby last year.

Ameobi will be hoping his loan period will give a similar spring board to the first team like Hirds. Since Hird came back towards the end of last season he managed to force his way into the side including the Play offs and has been an ever present so far this season.

Suprised you allowed him to leave, with you short on firepower.
