DRFC - Man in the middle

Anthony Bates will be the man in charge for Doncaster`s Championship match against Sheffield United on Tuesday night.

Mr Bates so far this season has not flashed the card around too much, in the 9 games that he`s refereed he`s only shown 19 yellow cards and 1 red.

Last season he refereed 36 games showing 85 yellow cards and 2 reds.

The last time he was in charge of a Doncaster Rovers game was in the Johnstones Paint Trophy match last season at Grimsby when after a 2-2 draw he crucially adjudged Rovers keeper Ben Smith had come too far off his line. The decision looked very harsh and eventually cost Rovers a place in the next round.

The last time he was in charge of Sheffield United was last season when the Blades lost 2-1 at home against Southampton in the Championship when he booked five players.
