'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC - Ryan dismisses leaving Rovers

John Ryan has strongly denied reports that he`s to quit the club.

The Rovers chairman who has pulled the club back from the brink of extinction to Championship football in ten years said in the Doncaster Free Press "It was something I said in the heat of the moment straight after the Barnsley game"

Ryan promised when he took over the club that he would get Rovers back to the Championship, something that the club hadn`t achieved since he first started following the club in the 1950`s.

Continuing in the Free Press he said "One of the reasons the club has done so well in recent years is that we have managed to have stability - and that won't change.'

For me John Ryan is one in a million, someone that comes along once in a blue moon. He`s a life long fan of the club and has put his money where his mouth is and helped the club go from the brink of extinction to the Championship and was the major driving force in getting Rovers into a brand spanking new stadium.

A lot of fans become owners of their clubs but don`t back the club financially enough to gain any sort of success. They usually end up in a worse situation than the one they started in before they took over.

I wouldn`t want anyone else in charge of Doncaster Rovers and will always back him and his decisions for the club 100%.

I'm glad to hear it, I dread to think what would happen to us without him.
