DRFC - Wellens out for up to four weeks

Doncaster`s influential midfielder Richie Wellens has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a groin injury.

Wellens who has been Rovers driving force in midfield since signing for the club in 2007 will be sorely missed as the team try to end a run of six consecutive defeats.

Jon Dickens the Rovers physio said on the official site "Richie had an injection in his groin on Tuesday"

He will now be left until early next week when he will have some scar tissue removed from his left groin.

Wellens had an operation in the summer on his hernia and it`s believed that the groin injury is a result of scar tissue building up in the groin.

The injection that he received on Tuesday is for a completely separate groin problem.
