Ahead of Saturdays game, we put ten questions to the Forest Vital Editor....
Q.Any news on the manager front?
Pretty much waiting till the end of the season by all accounts, which means everyone is constantly speculating! Nigel Clough remains favorite and a recent poll on our site suggested 50% of fans would like to see him made manager. The other main names being touted are all the young up and coming managers in this divison such as your own Dave Penney who has a fair bit of support.
Q. Who's going up automatically?
A couple of weeks back Swansea really impressed me so i would have said them and another but Southend just keep going dont they so i would say them and Brentford now as Swansea drop back. Huddersfield are a decent side and may catch them but ill go for Southend and Brentford at the minute.
Q. Who will make the play-offs?
Definitly not Forest thats for sure!! The four teams that are currently in the positions I reckon. I cant see Oldham, Chesterfield or yourselves now Mcindoe has gone, bridging the gap. Its more likely one or two of those teams will break into the automatic positions rather than out of the play-offs.
Q. Along with Rotherham, who else is going down?
Swindon Looked a bit pub team when we played the other week so theres two, Rotherham looked a poor side so I will give you that one! Yeovil I can see getting sucked into it and Milton Keynes who played well at home against us and despite having Mcleod will go as well, so theres your four.
Q. What is your opinion on Rovers season so far?
I dont think the City Ground score was a fair reflection, you played some very good football and the cup game took it out of you by the look of it. I think the fact that Penney is linked with the job and a fair few fans would like him says it all really. The cup run was also good viewing and you played very well, maybe you would have been higher in the league had it not been for the cup run?
Q. If you had to buy any Rovers players, who and why?
Does Mcindoe still count?! Everyone would chose him as the stand out player and Thornton was decent at times for Sunderland and we hear he gets some good reviews still so it would be those two. I think any team in league one or the Championship would take Mcindoe though wouldnt they?
Q. Should the two Nottingham teams merge?
Dont talk silly!
Q. Prediction for Saturday?
Forest have improved greatly since Megson left and are now unbeaten in four, the confidence is slowly returning so i think it is possible we could nick a win on Saturday but i reckon it will be a good even match so ill plump for 2-2.
Q. Which Forest players should we look out for?
Obviously Tyson presents a real threat with his pace and the kid despite missing one on Saturday seems to have the knack of scoring so he is definitly the dangerman. Commons maybe will cause a few problems but he seems to have a bit of a motivational problem currently but he definitly has the talent when he wants to use it. Two others to watch for the future are the Pearce esque left back Julian Bennett and the centre half Wes Morgan. Both have great futures if they keep developing, very strong in the tackle and in the air.
Q. Was Robin Hood from Nottingham or Doncaster?
Do I really have to dignify this with an answer?! Keep your thieving mitts of Robin Hood! Its Nottingham without a doubt however i would like to say the City Council could do a lot more to promote links between him and Nottingham.
