DRFC- Coppinger suffers injury blow

James Coppinger looks like spending some time on the sidelines after damaging his ankle in Tuesday`s defeat at Preston.

Coppinger was forced to withdraw early in the first half and Rovers physio speaking in the Sheffield Star said 'Coppinger has been in for treatment, but it looks as though he's strained his ankle ligaments.
We'll let the ankle settle down for a couple of days and see how it goes, but it looks like it could take a week or so or a couple of weeks. As I said We are not really sure at this stage and we need to let it settle down.

'His ankle was a bit sore today but he was able to walk around with a brace.'

Rovers are having a bad run of luck with injuries at the moment with James Hayter, Sean McDaid, Jos Van Nieuwstadt, Gordon Greer and loan signings Shelton Martis and Steve Brooker all being ruled out recently.

Brian Stock also suffered a reoccurrence of his calf strain on Tuesday night and is rated 50/50 for Saturday`s game at Crystal Palace.
