DRFC - Doncaster v Burnley preview

Doncaster entertain Burnley on Sunday hoping to build on their tremendous victory at Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

Form

Doncaster
Rovers beat Nottingham Forest 4-2 away from home on Boxing Day and are now only one point from safety.
The last time they played at home they were unlucky to lose 1-0 against top of the table Wolverhampton Wanderers who scored the winner in the last ten minutes.

Burnley
The Clarets surprisingly lost 2-1 at home on Boxing Day at home against Barnsley.
The last time they played away they won 2-1 at Bristol City.

Recent away from (last game first) WWLWLL

Team news

Doncaster
Rovers are expected to be unchanged from the side that performed so well at Forest.
Adam Lockwood and James Coppinger will both be hoping to push for recalls after only being substitutes at Forest after recent injuries.

Burnley
Burnley will probably also be unchanged from Friday`s defeat. Christian Kalvenes is still injured and they will be hoping that Wade Elliott and Kevin McDonald who both passed late fitness tests on Friday will have suffered no ill effects from that game.

History

The two clubs met just over a month ago, Rovers controlled for long periods of the game after Steve Thompson was sent off for the home side in the first half, they couldn`t get past an inform Jensen in the Burnley goal and the game finished 0-0.
There have been fourteen previous encounters at Doncaster with both sides winning seven each, there has yet to be a draw when the two clubs met at Belle Vue.

Clarets will want to put the Boxing Day Blues behind them after the disaster that was Barnsley. Providing we play like we have for most of the last three months, we will be too strong for Donny Rovers in my opinion. The only hope for Donny will be to get us down to ten men again or hope we start playing like plonkers a la Barnsley Any Donny fans are welcome to come and debate the up&coming game this Sunday with Clarets fans in our Matchday Mayhem forum on Vital Burnley.
