DRFC - Doncaster v Bristol City game off
Doncaster Rovers Championship clash with Bristol City today has been called off because of a frozen pitch.
Rovers were confident on Friday that there would be no problem with the pitch having had heavy duty covers on the pitch all week.
Lower than forecast temperatures (-7degrees) on Friday night though meant that the frost got under the covers and made the pitch frozen solid in places.
Referee Clive Oliver inspected the pitch on Saturday morning and had no hesitation in calling the game off.
Rovers now haven`t played since December 28th and will be disappointed, they had finally found some renewed confidence and goals over the Christmas period.
Next up hopefully will be the re arranged cup tie at Cheltenham on Tuesday night.
