DRFC - Rovers could face Merseyside opposition

Doncaster Rovers could face either Liverpool or Everton away in the 5th Round of the FA Cup if they can get past Aston Villa in their 4th Round replay.

It brings back memories of some great FA Cup ties in the past against both Merseyside clubs, Rovers put up some brave battles against Liverpool in the late 60's and early 70 's and they held them to a 2-2 draw at Anfield in 1974 and nearly won the game late on when they hit the crossbar,Rovers eventually lost the replay at Belle Vue 2-0.
The last time Rovers made the 4th Round of the Cup in 1985 they was eventually knocked out at Everton 2-0 who went on to lose the Final.

Full draw:

Fantastic draw for Rovers if we can somehow beat Villa, will generate some fantastic cash for the club.

Erm....I love your optimism fellas, but i'd wager on a decent pitch at Villa Park you'll see we're going to be a lot harder to get past....

Reckon you've shown you've got some quality there though - enough to go on a bit of a run in the league now hopefully?
YatesyVillain
A great incentive to beat Villa but that's no mean feat.. Why is it Swansea get a plum draw.. surely they will reach the last 8 (Have a look at the main article)
