DRFC - Heffernan the hero again

Rovers again were able to name an unchanged side has they entertained Bristol City with both clubs being the form sides in the Championship at the moment.

Rovers made a dream start in the first five minutes when Paul Heffernan fired in right footed against his former club.

Martin Woods had Rovers next chance when his fantastic long range effort just cleared the bar.

Stern John then had an effort on goal for the visitors but he hit his effort straight at Sullivan.

Spicer then had a good chance for Rovers but his shot was well saved by Basso.

Bristol City were putting plenty of pressure on the Rovers goal and Sullivan made a good save from Williams.

An entertaining and open first half saw Rovers go in at the break 1-0 up.

Matt Mills should have done better with an early effort in the second half but his header went back across the goal.

Rovers were playing the more controlled football and Heffernan and Spicer both had chances to increase the lead.

Jimmy O`Connor then went on a marauding run and his shot was saved by Basso.

An excellent performance against promotion candidates Bristol City and Rovers have now moved up to 15th in the table having won eight of their last nine League games.
