DRFC - Doncaster v Derby preview

Doncaster entertain Derby County this Friday evening hoping to get back to winning ways after last weekends disappointing defeat at Swansea.

Definitely missing for Doncaster will be Richie Wellens who was sent off at Swansea.
Making his first return to the Keepmoat stadium will be Paul Green who`s been a regular in the Rams starting line up since joining them just after Rovers success in last seasons play off final.

Doncaster lost last Saturday at Swansea City 3-1; it was their first defeat since December 20th.
Last time out at home Rovers defeated promotion hopefuls Bristol City 1-0.

Derby have improved their league form in recent weeks and won 3-1 against local rivals Nottingham Forest away from home last weekend.

History:

The two clubs path`s have only ever crossed thirteen times overall with seven of those coming at Doncaster.
The last time they met in Doncaster was at the old Belle Vue ground in a Carling Cup second round clash, Doncaster rushed into a three nil lead and looked like they was cruising through against opposition from an higher Division. Derby scored three goals in the last twenty minutes and forced the game to extra time, there were no further goals and the game went to penalties. After fifteen successful penalties James O`Connor stroked the ball home to give Rovers an 8-7 victory.

The two clubs met on the opening day of the season at Pride Park, Rovers were playing their first game in the second tier of English football and went away with all three points thanks to a goal by Lewis Guy.
