History

The two clubs have met sixteen times at Doncaster although this will be Reading`s first visit to the Keepmoat stadium.

Reading have been something of a bogey side to Doncaster throughout the years at Belle Vue with the visitors winning eight to Doncaster`s two with six being drawn.

Probably the most famous encounter between the two took place on the 25th September 1982 in an old Division Three fixture.

Kerry Dixon scored four goals for Reading and still ended on the losing side as Doncaster ran out 7-5 winners, Ian Snodin scored a first half hat trick for Rovers.

The game was part of a purple patch at Belle Vue with Rovers fans witnessing 32 goals in the space of four home games, firstly Rovers beat Exeter City 6-1, then Reading 7-5, lost to Wigan 6-3 and finished off with a 4-4 draw with Brentford.
The run of games sounded more like a tennis score than football, Rovers were unfortunately relegated alongside Reading at the end of the season.

the good news is that even if you lose you are still comfortable in mid table.
