DRFC - Season ticket sales go past 6,000

Doncaster Rovers have gone through the 6,000 barrier for season ticket sales.

The cut of for the reduced price season tickets finished at the end of last week which saw a mad rush which took it through the 6,000 mark.

Rovers sold around 8,000 last season and speaking on the official website Rovers chairman John Ryan said "We need to sell around the same as last season to compete at this level".

With three South Yorkshire derbies once again guaranteed next season along with new to the Championship, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Leicester and Scunthorpe all expected to draw big crowds Rovers are confident of reaching the 8,000.

Times are hard at the moment but with the prospect of those games on the cards I am sure they will get close to 8,000.
