DRFC - All quiet on the transfer front

DRFC - All quiet on the transfer front

With Jason Walker the trialist from Barrow the only movement incoming so far this summer Sean O`Driscoll is keeping very quiet regarding any players arriving at the club.

Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press O`Driscoll said 'There is a lot going on behind the scenes but not much we can report I'm afraid."

Rovers continue to be rumoured with players with Stephen Hughes from Motherwell and Paul Parry from Cardiff City the latest, as yet Rovers fans wait for that first signing with the new season looming.

Continuing O`Driscoll said "'We are checking what we can, and cannot, afford and juggling a few balls in the air."

Jason Walker who is having a weeks trial with the club missed out on his opportunity to play in the behind closed doors friendly against Hull City when the game was called off on Tuesday.

No reason has been given for the postponement but Hull also had a fixture at Carlisle United on the same day.

I'm not expecting anything exciting to happen now with only two weeks left before the season starts. Can't believe we haven't signed anyone this summer!

I dont think we would need may players. We dont just want to buy for buying sake. What position do you think we need to buy for?

I think we have a very small squad, a few injuries and we are up the creek. We need a forward to partner Heffernan. Who else have we got in that position? Brooker always on the treatment table, Shiels isn't going to score many and Lewis Guy! Who are we going to replace Wellens with? Mark Wilson? Not close to the same standard as Wellens. The only place we have plenty of cover is central defence.
