DRFC - Ex Premiership duo on trial

Doncaster Rovers are giving trials to John Oster and Quinton Fortune according to reports on Radio Sheffield.

30 year old winger, Oster spent last season at fellow Championship side Crystal Palace making over 30 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Quinton Fortune is a South African international winning over 50 caps and represented them at the 1998 and 2002 World Cup finals.

The versatile player who can play in defence or midfield was released by Belgium First Division side at the end of last season after making only a handful of appearances.

Fortune enjoyed seven years at Old Trafford with Manchester United making over 70 appearances for the Premiership`s most successful club, helping them win three titles during his time at the club.

Rovers assistant manager speaking on Radio Sheffield said 'He's come in, he's training with us and he's had an impact.'

Fortune has also been rumoured to have been targeted by Premiership Birmingham City and Championship side Ipswich Town during the summer.

A lot of experience from both players. Would like to see Oster on the wing.
