DRFC Premiership clubs offer Rovers youngsters

According to Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O`Kelly, a number of Premiership clubs have been offering the club players.

Doncaster who were known as 'The Arsenal of League One` during their promotion season in 2007/08 under Sean O`Driscoll would be an excellent place for some of the Premiership clubs young players to learn their trade.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield O`Kelly said 'We've had a couple of Premiership clubs who've been in touch saying we're the sort of club that they'd like their boys to come to.
'It is a credit to the manager and the group of players we've got here that people can come into the environment and in a short space of time be made to feel at home and actually develop their careers,'

Rovers fans are still waiting for the first signing of the summer with just over two weeks to go before the season kicks off.

I've always been for getting a few youngsters in from the top Premiership clubs. You often see them go on season long loans to Championship clubs and perform really well.

I agree we understand that we dont have lots of money to spend so what a way to get the right type of players. I remember when Tony Woodcock came from Nottingham Forest on Loan. He later went on to Arsenal and England fame.
