Doncaster Rovers will hold a minutes silence before Saturday`s friendly against Wolves as a respect to former England manager Sir Bobby Robson who died today.
The game on Saturday is a testimonial for Mickey Walker who was close friends of the former Ipswich Town and Newcastle United manager and the club thought it would be only right to honour a legend of the game with a minute`s silence.
Sir Bobby passed away at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer and was seen at Newcastle`s St James Park only last Sunday when an England XI played against a German XI to raise money for the Bobby Robson Foundation cancer charity.
When the great man came out to meet the players and officials prior to the kick off he received a standing ovation from all and the terraces for a full ten minutes.
Robson enjoyed a very successful management career with Ipswich Town, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona, he finished his managerial career at his beloved Newcastle United.
Sir Bobby also managed the England national side for eight years between 1982-1990 and was very unlucky to not lead England to at least one World Cup final reaching the Quarter Finals in 1986 when the 'hand of god` and Argentina defeated them 2-1. They then went one step further in 1990 before agonisingly losing out on penalties to Germany.
