DRFC Doncaster v Preston Vital Preview

Doncaster entertain Preston on Saturday hoping to keep up their unbeaten start to the new season.

Doncaster
Rovers drew their first league game of the season at Watford 1-1, James Hayter equalised for the side after Graham had given Watford the lead.

In their midweek Carling Cup tie Rovers defeated Notts County away 1-0 thanks to a goal from James Coppinger.

Preston
North End have had an identical start to Rovers, after drawing their opening league game of the season 2-2 at home with Bristol City, they put five past Morecambe in an emphatic 5-1 victory in the Carling Cup in midweek.


History

The two clubs have met on fourteen occasions at Doncaster in the past, Doncaster have much the better record with eight wins to Preston`s three and three being drawn.

Preston did the double over Rovers last season, Jon Parkin scored the only goal of the game inside the last ten minutes at Deepdale to give the Lilywhites a 1-0 win.
It the return game Preston won on their first visit to the Keepmoat, thanks to goals from ex Rovers loanee Chris Brown and Neil Mellor.
