DRFC Van Nieuwstadt departs Rovers

Jos Van Nieuwstadt has parted company with Doncaster Rovers after the club and Van Nieuwstadt agreed on terminating his contract.

The Dutch defender joined Rovers in the summer of 2008 but struggled to gain a regular first team place making only 17 appearances for the club.

The 29 year old needed a hernia operation in the summer and as just resumed training.

The defender is now free to look for a new club.

With only two recognised centre backs at the moment actually contracted to Rovers I think that must mean we are about to sign Shackell from Wolves
