DRFC Rovers glad to see international break

Doncaster Rovers will welcome the international break and the chance for some of their walking wounded to regain full fitness.

Mark Wilson and Byron Webster became the latest to get injured in Saturday`s draw at Sheffield United.

Wilson left the pitch in the first half after suffering a calf injury and Webster suffered an elbow injury that required pain killing injections for him to be able to carry on.

These injuries already add to the ever growing list on the treatment table.

Brian Stock will be sidelined for about three months after surgery on his ankle.

Adam Lockwood suffered a broken metatarsal in the midweek draw with Swansea and will also be sidelined for up to three months.

James Coppinger missed the trip on Saturday with a calf injury sustained also against Swansea.

Rovers are still also without long term injured Steve Brooker and Sean McDaid.
McDaid is hoping to return to training in the very near future after completing his rehabilitation programme at Lilleshall.

The one good note on Saturday was the return to the bench of Stuart Elliott who has been missing since suffering an ankle injury whilst out on loan at Grimsby Town last season.

Rovers will still be without John Oster and Quinton Fortune when the Championship resumes on October 17th, they are serving the last game of their three match suspensions after both being sent off at Scunthorpe.

With a small squad we cannot afford many more injuries or we will really be down to the bare bones.
