DRFC Smith to join Morecambe
According to reports on SkySports.com, Rovers reserve keeper Ben Smith has joined League Two side Morecambe on loan.
Smith joined Rovers in 2006 but has struggled to find a way past veteran keeper Neil Sullivan and now also faces competition from Gary Woods who joined from Manchester United.
The 23 year old will be looking for some regular first team football having only appeared in Rovers two Carling Cup ties this season.
He failed to make an appearance for Rovers last season and enjoyed a short loan spell at League Two side Lincoln City making nine appearances.
His last league start for Rovers was in February 2007 in a 2-2 draw at home against Swansea City.
