DRFC Rovers chasing international duo

Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll is still keen to bring in Wolves striker Sam Vokes and Estonian international Sander Puri.

Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press O`Driscoll said 'Our interest in Vokes is well known but there are four or five other clubs who have made enquiries.
We've had the Estonian lad watched and spoken to his agent but he's not out of contract yet as we first thought."

Rovers have been rumoured to be chasing the out of favour Welsh international Sam Vokes since the summer, other clubs rumoured to be linked with him are Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Derby County.

Rovers already have one Wolves player on loan, defender Jason Shackell and have a good working relationship with Wolves who came to the Keepmoat during the summer for Mickey Walker`s testimonial.

Puri is currently playing in the Estonian Meistriliiga for one of their top sides FC Levadia Tallinn, helping them to the title in 2006,2007 and 2008.

The 21 year old plays in midfield and also as an eye for goal scoring 14 goals in just over 50 appearances for his current club.

The Estonian international has won 15 caps, scoring two goals against Lithuania and earlier this year in a World Cup Qualifier against Armenia.

He was linked with top Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund last year.

The Rovers boss may invite him to the Keepmoat for a trial with the club.

If it comes down to a battle of wages with other clubs then Rovers will probably end up without either. I like Vokes and really like the sound of Puri.

Looked at some Youtube clips of Puri, he really looks a good player, fast, good with both feet and a good header of the ball.

Leeds also interested in Vokes
