DRFC Newcastle United v Doncaster Rovers team news

Newcastle United welcome Doncaster Rovers to St James Park on Saturday, the first time they have met in the league for over sixty years.

Newcastle will definitely be without Steven Taylor (hamstring) and Shola Ameobi and Joey Barton who both have foot injuries.

Nick Butt (illness) and Fabricio Colloccini (groin) are likely to return to the squad.

Doncaster Rovers look likely to stick with the side that beat Peterborough in midweek, Simon Gillett picked up a thigh injury but is likely to be fit.

Gareth Roberts is still a doubt after missing the game with a calf injury.

Rovers will still be without Sean McDaid who is still regaining his fitness after a long term injury.

Still missing are Adam Lockwood (foot), Brian Stock (ankle), Steve Brooker (knee) and Byron Webster (elbow).

Some sites are saying Alan Smith is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card in midweek. Usually there is a seven day period before a player serves a suspension.
