'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC Ryan hopeful of reaching play offs

Doncaster Rovers chairman John Ryan believes the club can reach the play offs this season after the club enjoyed back to back victories over Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday in the last week.

Speaking in the Doncaster Free Press, Ryan said 'Of course we can finish up there. Anything is possible in football. We've not got the points we've deserved all season, but all in all I'm very pleased. We should have eight or nine more points, which would have put us right at the top of the table."

Rovers are now just seven points off the play off positions and a good run of results could quickly see them in or around the top eight.

In the same light they are only six points clear of the relegation zone.

The Championship that is always a very tight division is once again the same with teams capable of taking points off each other.

In the past week, Middlesbrough have enjoyed a 5-1 away victory, before losing 3-0 at home.

Reading won 2-0 away last weekend, and lost 4-2 in midweek to Crystal Palace who themselves lost 3-0 to Doncaster last Saturday.

Rovers will be hoping to continue their recent upturn in form when they entertain Bristol City, a side who are currently in the top eight.

The first aim must be fifty points, then see where you can get. I though you'd struggle this season.

If only you had not sold Mills and Wellens, I think Rovers would already be in or around the play offs.

I really wish that he wouldn't say things like this. I hope he doesn't come up with another daft slogan like he as in the past!

I hear that John Parr has already been asked to write the song
