Penney Down By The Riverside

The Sunday Express has today linked Dave Penney with the Middlesborough job.

It is no secret that Steve McLaren are big friends, and the paper hints that the new England manager has recommended Dave Penney to Steve Gibson.

Penney has already shown that he can beat Premiership sides, as Rovers knocked out Man City and Aston Villa in this seasons League Cup.

Penney is one of a few managers that has the necessary coaching badges required to take on a Premiership club.

This is not the first time Penney has attracted interest. He is still linked with the Forest and Derby jobs.
