'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DRFC It's snow joke for Brooker

The snow is not only causing problems with games being called off, but it`s also causing problems off the pitch as well.

Rovers haven`t played since Boxing Day due to the big freeze, they have seen a home game against Leicester and the away FA Cup fixture both fall to the freezing conditions since then.

Sean O`Driscoll had to give the players Tuesday off after heavy snowfall meant the training pitch at Cantley Park was unplayable.

It`s also slowing down the recovery of a few of the Rovers injured players.

Martin Woods who as been missing since early December due to his groin injury was back running again but hasn`t been able to train due to the snow.

More frustratingly, long term injured Steve Brooker who hasn`t been seen in a Rovers shirt since his initial loan debut at Watford in November 2008 had just started running after his Achilles tendon operation.

Speaking in the Sheffield Star, club physio Jon Dickens said 'He can't use a treadmill and he's had to go back to the bike and the cross-trainer until we can get him running again.'

The deep freeze shows no sign of letting up with freezing conditions forecasted by the met office to continue past the weekend.

It was a brave decision to sign Brooker originally. I wonder if it will pay off?

Can't wait to see Brooker fit, just when will it happen?
