DRFC Preston v Doncaster Preview

Preston North End welcome Doncaster Rovers on Saturday to Deepdale.

Form

Preston
The Lilywhites had been in something of a slump recently winning only one of their previous ten games until the sacked manager Alan Irvine.

As usual when this happens the team went out and won their next game.

The team knocked out inform League One side Colchester United 7-0 in the FA Cup!

Recent home form: WWdLDD

Doncaster
Rovers haven`t played since Boxing Day when they lost for the first time in five games when going down to a late penalty in a 1-0 defeat at Coventry.

Rovers had won their previous four games in a row with loan striker Billy Sharp scoring in each game.

Recent away form: LWWLLL

History

The two clubs have only met thirteen times at Deepdale with the home side enjoying eleven wins to Doncaster`s one.

Rovers solitary win came in the 1987/88 season when they won 2-1.

When the two clubs met in the corresponding fixture last season, Preston won 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Jon Parkin.

The two clubs have already met this season at the Keepmoat back in August, a late Adam Lockwood goal for Rovers cancelled out a Chris Brown effort in the first half.
