DRFC Rovers turn down Woods bid

Doncaster Rovers have revealed that they turned down an offer for midfielder Martin Woods on transfer deadline day.

Reports on Sky Sports News suggested that he`d signed for fellow Championship side Preston North End.

Rovers were quick to deny this on their official website but did reveal that they had turned an offer down from the Lancashire club.

The 24 year old has made 20 appearances so far this season and chipped in with 5 goals.

Woods has been an inspirational part of the Rovers midfield since their promotion to the Championship and he was club captain in the absence of Brian Stock earlier this season before suffering a groin injury in December which as kept him on the sidelines since.

About time they stood their ground and didn't sell a player. I am surprised no one left of any importance during the window.
