DRFC Lockwood signs new deal

Doncaster Rovers defender Adam Lockwood has agreed a new deal with the club.

Lockwood has been with Rovers since 2006, was out of contract and as put pen to paper on a two year deal.

The former club captain has struggled with injuries since the clubs promotion to the Championship in 2008 and he missed most of last season with a broken bone in his foot.

The 28 year old is delighted to sign the new contract, speaking on the official website he said, "I`m pleased to have signed my new deal because I have enjoyed my time here.

In his four years with the club, he`s made 120 appearances and is a popular player amongst the fans.

Lockwood becomes the second out of contract player in two days to agree a new deal after veteran keeper Neil Sullivan signed a new one-year deal on Wednesday.

Surprised he's still only 28, spends far too much time on the treatment table. With a small squad they can't afford to may passengers or do they want someone to keep Brooker company!!

Hopefully Rovers will have someone else lined up in defence.
