DRFC McDaid joins Carlisle

Sean McDaid who was released by Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season has joined League One side Carlisle United.

McDaid has signed a twelve-month contract with an option to extend it for a further twelve months if he was to make 30 appearances or more for the Cumbrians.

The 23 year old struggled with injuries during his time at Rovers and he spent almost two years on the sidelines after dislocating his knee in training in 2008.

The former Leeds youngster spent five years at Rovers and made 80 appearances for the club, scoring one goal against Swindon Town in 2008.

After suffering a torrid time with injuries in the past few years Vital Doncaster would like to wish him all the best at his new club.

Good luck to him, the lad deserves a break after rotten luck with injuries.

He's a very good player when fully fit and can play at left back or left midfield. I wish him all the best.
