DRFC Rovers confirm cup date

Doncaster Rovers have been quick to confirm a date for their Carling Cup first round tie with Accrington Stanley that was drawn today.

The game will take place at the Keepmoat on Tuesday 10th August with a 7.45pm kick off.

It`s the first time Rovers have had a home tie in the competition since the 2007/08 season when they beat Lincoln City 4-1.

In the past two seasons, Rovers have been drawn against Notts County at Meadow Lane with both sides enjoying a 1-0 success each.

Rovers have met Stanley in recent seasons when they won 2-0 thanks to goals from Sean Thornton and Paul Heffernan on their way to winning the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in 2007.

They have already picked the date, I suppose Rovers know they have no chance of a live game on Sky after last season.

I read recently that John Ryan actually wrote to Sky and the BBC about there lack of live TV Coverage last season. Rovers didn't do themselves any favours when they refused to let sky show the Barnsley game live in the 2008/09 season.
