DRFC Billy can't wait to start scoring again

Doncaster Rovers club record signing Billy Sharp can`t wait for the new season to start.

Sharp joined Rovers today for a club record fee of £1.15 million after spending last season on loan at the club from Sheffield United.

The 24 year old became a huge fans favourite last season with his 100% commitment and goalscoring exploits.

Sharp is already looking forward to finding the net again when the season starts in August, speaking at the Press conference today that announced his arrival at the club, Sharp said, "I enjoyed it last year here on loan, I just want the season to start and I carry on putting the ball in the net again."

Sharp scored 15 goals last season in 35 appearances and was voted the PFA Fans player of the month for December. He also earned recognition from his fellow Rovers players by winning the players player of the year at the end of season awards.

A lot more pressure on him this season with the price tag hanging over his head.

Lets hope he can get at least the same amount again this season, would be good if he can get over 20. Just need another striker to chip in with a few.

I read tonight he's set himsrlf a target of 20 goals this season and reckons if he does then Rovers should be close to the promotion places.
