DRFC Rovers finish off pre season with a win

Doncaster Rovers finished off their pre season campaign with a 1-0 win over South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday at the Keepmoat on Saturday.

Rovers won thanks to a goal from James Coppinger in the 37th minute, the midfielder drifted past two defenders before beating O`Donnell in the Wednesday goal from a tight angle.

The closest Wednesday got to equalising was in the final few minutes when they had the ball in the back of the net but the flag was up to rule out the effort.

Rovers will now prepare for their first fixture of the new season at Preston North End next Saturday, as the club will be aiming to beat their twelfth place finish of last season.
