DRFC Spurs youngster joins on loan

Doncaster Rovers have signed young Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Ryan Mason on a one month youth loan deal.

The 19 year old can play in either midfield or attack and as a good eye for goal.

Mason joined Spurs in 2007 at 16 years of age and made his first appearance for the first team as a late substitute in the UEFA Cup clash with NEC Nijmegen in November 2008.

During the Academy season in 2008/09, he scored 29 goals in 31 games.

Mason enjoyed a spell on loan at League One side Yeovil Town last season scoring 6 goals in 29 appearances.

He has also represented England at under 19 level, making four appearances and scoring one goal.

Mason will go straight into Rovers injury hit squad for the home game with Bristol City on Saturday.

Looks a good signing, I will be interested to see where O'Driscoll is going to play him. He's also quite handy with a free kick.

Likely to be up front alongside Sharp unless Woods, Coppinger and Sharp are actually still injured

Thats some goalscoring record for a midfielder. Didn't so that well at Yeovil last season though did he.
