DRFC Stock happy at Rovers

Doncaster Rovers midfielder Brian Stock is hoping to extend his deal with the club past the end of this season, when his current deal runs out.

Stock continues to be linked with other clubs and there was recent speculation linking him with a move to fellow Championship club Swansea City.

Speaking in the Doncaster Star, Stock said, 'There has been speculation linking me with other clubs for quite a long time now, so it`s nothing new. It is actually a compliment when another club shows an interest in you and if any player says it's not then they are lying."

Rovers are expected to sit down with Stock over the next few months and try to iron out a new contract with the club.

Stock who is the club captain, has now made nearly 150 appearances since joining the club in 2007 and is establishing himself in the Welsh national side.

The former Bournemouth midfielder, who played for Rovers boss Sean O`Driscoll on the South Coast, is not looking to leave Rovers, "Whilst there are rumours that I might be going places, I'm happy here. I'm hoping that I can negotiate a new deal and stay here,' he continued.

Stock has been plagued with a back injury since Rovers promotion to the Championship in 2008.
He will be hoping to have an injury free season and help push Rovers towards at least the play off places.

Need to sort this out soon, Can't see Rovers wanting to see him leave for nothing next summer.

We have four or five key players out of contarct next summer, I think it will show the club and players intent if they have all signed new deals before christmas.

The trouble is, contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on these days
