DRFC Cardiff City v Doncaster Match Preview

Doncaster Rovers travel to Cardiff City on Saturday hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the league season.

The Bluebirds have started with two wins and a draw from their opening three games in all competitions.

They drew their opening league game of the season at home against Sheffield United 1-1.

Cardiff knocked League Two side Burton Albion out of the Carling Cup 4-1 but it took till extra time for them to overcome their lower league opposition.

They are currently level on points with Rovers in seventh place.

Last weekend they earned all three points in a 2-1 win at Derby County.

Doncaster
The Rovers have won one, drawn one and lost one so far this season.

On the opening day, they won 2-0 at Preston North End thanks to goals from James O`Connor and James Hayter.

This followed by a surprise cup exit at home against League Two side Accrington Stanley who eventually won the game in extra time 2-1.

In their opening home league game on Saturday, Billy Sharp started to repay some of the record transfer fee Rovers splashed out in the summer, by scoring a last minute penalty to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Bristol City.

Rovers are currently fourth in the table; level on points with fiver other clubs.

The two sides have met fourteen times at Cardiff over the years with the home side winning nine to Doncaster`s three and two being drawn.

When the two sides met at Cardiff last season the home side ran out 2-1 winners thanks to a goal in the last moments of the game.
