Millers Say No To Record Bid

Rovers have made a club record bid for Lee Williamson which Rotherham United have rejected.

Last week, Rotherham manager Alan Knill asked how much Rovers were asking for transfer-listed midfielder Ricky Ravenhill. It is thought that the cash-stripped Millers were unable to pay this amount, so Rovers asked Rotherham if they were willing to sell Lee Williamson with Rovers offering Ravenhill plus £100k. This offer was rejected by Rotherham. Rotherham then said that they wanted Ravenhill plus another Doncaster player, thought to be either Paul Green or Neil Roberts, and more cash.

The Millers and Rovers both value Ravenhill at £100k, which would have made the total bid £200k which beats the current club record paid by Rovers.

Earlier this week the Grimsby Evening Telegrapgh reported, that Grimsby had made a £100k offer for Ravenhill.

The Millers Chairman Dennis Coleman slapped a £1m price tag on Williamson's head shortly after taking control at Millmoor, however its unlikely that anyone will offer that much.

Other teams interested in signing Williamson include Norwich City and Luton Town.
