DRFC Webster on the way back

Long term injured Byron Webster has returned to training with the squad.

The defender has been missing since last October, when in his first league start for the club in the away game at Sheffield United he suffered an elbow injury that required surgery.

When he finally started to make his comeback from his elbow injury in January, he suffered a further injury when he broke his metatarsal in training.

The Rovers staff are not rushing Webster back and are taking their time with his rehabilitation.
Speaking on the official website, Rover boss Sean O`Driscoll said, 'He's found it difficult just coming back into training. You can do all of the work you want to in the gym, but it's difficult to come back into it.
'Rather than pushing him, he's having one day on and one day off and if he gets no reaction, then we will push him on as quick as we can.
'He's got this one awkward spot which we're trying to manage. We don't want to go down the road of having another operation to solve it.'

The 23-year-old joined Rovers in the summer of 2009 after a successful trial with the club.

In all he has made just seven appearances for the club so far, he showed in the Sheffield United game when he suffered his elbow injury that he is fully committed to the club.
He completed the 90 minutes that day despite needing pain killing injections at half time on the injury.

It will be like a new signing, lets hope he can stay injury free from now on.

With Thomas looking like he's going to be out for a while it will be good to have more cover at the back.
