DRFC Fairhurst to join Shrimpers

Doncaster Rovers striker Waide Fairhurst is set to join League Two side Southend United on an initial month`s loan.

The 21 year old has come through the Rovers youth system but as struggled again this term to break into the side, making just two appearances so far.

Fairhurst enjoyed a loan spell at Shrewsbury Town last season where he netted four times in ten appearances.

The paperwork will be completed on Thursday, in time for him to be available for their weekend clash against Chesterfield.

Some regular first team footbal will do him good. He's never going to get in at Rovers ahaed of Sharp and O'Discoll's lovechild, James Hayter.

I still rate him highly and think he will score plenty of goals given the chance. The loan spell will do him good.
