DRFC Loan watch - Payne, Fairhurst and Clark

We take a look on Vital Doncaster at how the loan players are fairing in their loan stints away from the Keepmoat.

Both Waide Fairhurst and Robbie Clark left the Keepmoat last week to get some first team experience.

Fairhurst made his debut for Southend United in their 2-1 defeat at Chesterfield.

Fairhurst helped set up the Southend equaliser and played 82 minutes before being substituted.

Robbie Clark came off the bench to make his debut after 68 minutes for Sheffield FC in their FA Cup clash against Frickley.

Sheffield looked to be set to book their place in the 4th qualifying round when Frickley equalised in the fourth minute of injury time.

The two sides will meet in the replay at Frickley on Tuesday.

Josh Payne continues to be a regular in the Oxford United midfield and is earning glowing praise with their official site describing him as 'ever industrious` alongside his fellow midfielders.

Payne made his seventh start for the U`s on Saturday since joining them at the end of August. He`s yet to score for the club and was denied his first by a finger tip save from the Aldershot keeper during the second half.

Aldershot were reduced to ten men in the first half and they could have quite easily have been down to nine men when Payne was the victim of a crude tackle by Marvin Morgan.

The decision was to prove decisive as Morgan scored the only goal of the game to earn Aldershot all three points.

I live close to Oxford so have been hearing good things about Payne. Good to see both Fairhurst and Clark are getting time on the pitch.

I think Payne could be a terrific player in a few years time with a bit more experience.
