DRFC Rovers injury crisis worsens

DRFC Rovers injury crisis worsens

Doncaster Rovers injury crisis worsened in the game with Derby County when Simon Gillett was forced off with a medial ligament injury.

Gillett is the latest player to join the ever-increasing injury list.

Wayne Thomas and James Chambers are still long-term injuries and George Friend and James O`Connor both missed Tuesday night after picking up injuries at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Rovers had to name three youth team players on the bench alongside regular first team players who were all carrying injuries.

Adam Lockwood needed a pain killing injection before the game in case he was needed, despite having a suspected broken toe.

James Hayter (ankle) and Martin Woods (groin) were also named on the bench despite not being fully fit.

Mark Wilson also missed the game on Tuesday night through illness.

One bit of good news for Sean O`Driscoll is that Shelton Martis could return on Saturday after missing the last three games through injury.

Maybe Chairman John Ryan needs to get the dubbing out and clean his boots!

What's happenining this season, since the opening day we can't seem to get through a game without someone getting injured. Might need to delve into the loan market again before Saturday, either that or JR knocks on O'Driscoll's door and tells him he's available.

John Ryan is complaining about the crowds, there could be an incentive to go at the moment, take your boots and you might get a game!
