DRFC Rovers land Healy on loan

Doncaster Rovers have signed David Healy on loan for 28 days from Sunderland.

The former Manchester and Leeds United striker has been brought in to cover for the injured Billy Sharp who is out for around six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 31 year old is the overall leading goalscorer for Northern Ireland with 35 goals and scored the most goals during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup with 13 goals, the highlight being the scoring the only goal against England at Windsor Park.

The Northern Ireland international will go straight into the squad for the home game with Millwall on Saturday and as been given the number 19 shirt during his stay.

When he was at Leeds he was expected to be able to do something with the ball that came to him with snow on it. At Donny he will get it to feet.
